  • Welcome to my website, displaying the best I have to offer in fine art nature photography.

I am a published, and award winning nature photographer who loves the outdoors. My photography skills come to me as being self-taught, and my learning is an ever evolving process. I enjoy photographing a wide gamut of subjects, from small birds, to large mammals, and even vast landscapes.

Although you will see many wildlife images in my portfolio, my true love is still landscape photography. I am constantly seeking natural landscapes that will provide me with the best compositions, and am willing to drive, hike, and canoe hours to seek out these locations. Once I happen upon these locations, I will not hesitate to do whatever I can to safely (and sometime not so safely) achieve the best possible vantage point and compositions. When photographing landscapes, the details at my feet are just as important as the details on the horizon and I attempt to capture this in my work, using near/far exposures wherever possible.
All my work is captured digitally and doesn’t stop once the image is on the camera’s memory card. A lot of my work is done at home on my computer. I often combine multiple exposures to create one image with a High Dynamic Range (HDR) revealing details in both the highlight, and shadow. This process has become a more common one with photographers, and is often overdone. However, as indicated by my work, it is successful if done subtly.

Throughout my post processing, I also crop images, clone out unwanted objects, adjust colours, and dodge and burn selected areas of the photograph. My goal is not to recreate a scene exactly as it appeared to me, but to create a work of art and capture not only what my eyes saw, but what my senses felt as well. Digital processing opens up a wide range of possibilities, allowing me to create the best possible image available to me. My final goal is always to create an image that is technically excellent, and artistically inspired.
All of my works are available for sale as limited editions. Any images purchased directly through me will be matted, and framed to archival standards, and guaranteed from any damage upon delivery. All images are printed on archival papers, and a guaranteed from fading for life. If any of the prints fade, simply return them to me, and they will be replaced with no questions asked.

Please take your time, and enjoy your visit throughout my website. New work is added regularly.
